Duncan Rodger (artist name: Skeeter) has been instrumental in the
development of the Breakcore musical style in Toronto and across
Canada. Promoting the genre through numerous events since 2001 and
through his co-owned record label, Here's My Card Records.
Inspired by the discipline established by the FameFame collective,
dubbed the Jawa technique. Named after the scavengers of Tatooine, the
idea is to reprocess junk into art.
Duncan draws from the greatest
cultural garbage dump, the internet. Sifting through thousands of
videos posted to a plethora of viral video websites in order to find
the perfect clip, Duncan edits the video down into microsecond chunks.
Applying the hyper-edited rhythmic templates of breakcore to video,
Duncan's videos are a rapid fire barrage of media maximizing
information density overloading the senses to the point of implosion.
